Problem – A young couple living in Tunbridge Wells came to us with a problem… they had a 3 month old boy and a house that was not yet toddler proof. Also the 3 bed victorian house was laid out in a way that didn't suit their lifestyle. The way they lived was where they had friends over all the time and frequently had more people than the house would take. Their decision was: either move house or re-work their existing accommodation. These days the cost of moving is such that you are able to do significant works to your current property for the price of the stamp duty alone so the rework was most attractive.
Solution – Looking at their house and spending a little time with them asking about the problem we could see quite clearly that we could offer alternative designs. It is fair to say that the victorians didn't live in the same way that we do now but it is not physically a huge step to bring the two together.
